Greece Authorities said on Monday that 49 migrants have been arrested while trying to fly from airports on Greek islands to destinations elsewhere in Europe using forged passports.
“At Crete’s Heraklion airport, 49 people from Syria, Iraq, Eritrea, Libya, Pakistan, Haiti, Congo and Algeria were caught with false documents between July 21 and July 30.
“Six others were held at the airport on the island of Santorini,’’ police said.

Israeli police on Monday arrested 33 Palestinians on suspicion of violently protesting, and state prosecutors filed indictments against an additional five suspects for alleged incitement to violence.
Police said among the arrests were seven minors, aged 13 to 17. All of the suspects are from neighbourhoods in East Jerusalem.
Police also accused the Palestinians of throwing stones and Molotov cocktails, setting off firecrackers and blocking roads, among other disturbances.
Meanwhile the Jerusalem District Attorney’s Office filed indictments against five East Jerusalem residents for allegedly calling for acts of violence against civilians and Israeli authorities on Facebook.

Ricardo Martinelli, the former president of Panama, wanted on suspicion of corruption and spying on political opponents, was arrested in the U.S. on Tuesday, Martinelli’s lawyers in Panama confirmed.
He was arrested at his home in Miami, Florida, having fled Panama for the U.S. in January 2015.

The police in Lagos have arrested two Chinese nationals and two Nigerians operating a fake embassy at the Ejigbo area of the state.
Liu Honyang, 47, Sun Xinai, 49 , and their Nigerian collaborators, Oriyomi Olawale, 47 and Desmond Chinedu, 25, were apprehended during the raid on their office situated inside Golden Point Hotel and Suite on Duduyemi Street in Ejigbo.

The former president of El Salvador has been arrested after corruption charges were made against him, his lawyer confirmed on Sunday.
Elias Antonio Saca and two former employees were taken into custody, his lawyer, Silvia Bonilla, said in the capital, San Salvador.

The Zambian Police said on Tuesday that they had arrested 151 opposition supporters after riots erupted over President Edgar Lungu’s controversial election victory.
The Police spokesman, Rae Hamoonga, said in a statement that the arrests came after protesters set five buildings on fire, stoned houses and blocked roads in Southern Province.
He said that the suspects would soon appear in court, adding that the situation was under control.
