Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev said “RIP’’ to the outgoing U.S. administration of Barack Obama said on Friday, after the White House decided to expel 35 Russian diplomats.

“It is regrettable that the Obama administration, which started out by restoring our ties, is ending its term in an anti-Russia agony,” Mr. Medvedev said.

Chinese club offer Real Madrid £250 million for Ronaldo

Real Madrid were offered about £250 million by an unnamed Chinese club for Cristiano Ronaldo, according to the Portuguese player’s agent, Jorge Mendes.

He however said the 31-year-old forward had no interest in the deal, which included an £85 million  annual salary.

Hacking: U.S. expels 35 Russian diplomats

U.S. President Barack Obama has ordered the expulsion of 35 Russian diplomats including shutting down of two Russian compounds in the U.S. in a number of actions announced on Thursday.

Mr. Obama said in a statement on Thursday that the actions were “in response to Russia’s malicious cyber activity and harassment.

“Today, I have ordered a number of actions in response to the Russian government’s aggressive harassment of U.S. officials and cyber operations aimed at U.S. election.

Trump reverses self, says ‘Obama transitioning smoothly’

Incoming U.S. President Donald Trump on Wednesday reversed himself hours after complaining on Twitter that outgoing President Barack Obama was constituting “roadblocks” to a smooth transition of power.

Trump criticises UN as talk shop

Egypt detains Al Jazeera journalist

Egyptian authorities have detained a news producer working with Al Jazeera for allegedly spreading false news, state television reported on Sunday.

Prosecutors on Sunday ordered that Mahmoud Hussein be jailed for 15 days pending further investigations on charges of spreading false news.

He was alleged to have fabricated reports on the internal situation in Egypt to be shown on Al Jazeera, the broadcaster added on its website.
